Kirill Selegei is the kind of comedian who knows how to turn anxiety and everyday absurdity into material for quiet laughter. In his concerts, everything is painfully familiar: fear of the police, endless plans, financial cushions and memes about world war - only diluted with sarcasm and a bit of tired irony.
It doesn't paint heroic pictures, nor does it chew up simple solutions. There are grim "labyrinths" with massage interrogation, and eternal homophobia against the backdrop of scientific discovery. On the surface there is only fatigue, stretched between attempts to survive and absurd everyday life with a trip for toothpaste.
The main thing about his comedy is the sense that courage may not be valor now, but simply the habit of staying afloat despite the background noise of panic. Selegay doesn't have a happy ending - but an honest, uncluttered mirror and a perpetual irony about the way things are going.
