Viktor Kopanitsa

About

Viktor Kopanitsa likes to take the world apart bit by bit, with a sadness and cynicism that doesn't get weathered even in the Kazakh steppes or a Tatar khrushchevka. His concerts are a survival manual for those who remember too well the dull beer, cheap phones and eternal shuttle buses, where neighbors and enemies are equally annoying. Kopanitsa takes a close look at family dramas, provincial neuroses and life on the brink of emigration: the characters of his show are constantly trying to become "their own" - in new cities, in different families, and even just in line for a cheap frying pan. But popularity, as we know, does not guarantee understanding, and jokes about quail or army radios turn into political reflections. The main thing in these concerts is tired irony and a stable conviction: if "average" is already an achievement, then it's time to drop everything and laugh at least out of spite. For Kopanitsa, everyday life is not only a daily torture, but also an inexhaustible source for voicing banal but painfully accurate truths.
