About

Andrei Ayrapetov is a new wave comedian who can pretend that everything is "just talk" and then quietly leads the audience into very personal corridors: family, shame, poverty, provinces and growing up. His concerts sound like a relaxed mixtape - without "performances", but with the feeling that life sets the stage for itself anyway. Themes include dictators and "clear position", revolutions and media characters, sex and awkward anatomy of feelings, male expectations and tiredness of trying to be "normal". The most powerful thought is that nothing really ends: not family traumas, not inner demons, not attempts to assemble into a whole person. In mood, it's postirony with a long-standing, time-honored anger at everyday life: secondhand as philosophy, discount cards as fate, "the bottom" not as a metaphor but as a mastered territory. And yes - in public interviews, Ayrapetov has said that he lives in Europe and tries not to lose touch with his Russian audience.
