Maksat Madali prefers to travel light - but he always carries the baggage of habits, fears and patriotism with him. In the concert "Vietnamese Chronicles" he analyzes why it is easiest to long for the homeland in a foreign currency and how the absurdity of everyday life turns into the only real entertainment.
Through his eyes, Vietnam is not so much exotic as a mirror that shows how little we change, even when we are thousands of kilometers away from home. Maksat explores male anxiety, petty humiliations and unexpected longings with characteristic self-irony - and finds in them, of course, the raw material for new jokes.
