About
Egor Alexandrov takes family conflicts and urban ennui with enviable calmness against the backdrop of Arkhangelsk in the nineties, an era where even a dislocated shoulder becomes a symbol of something more. Life, according to him, is an eternal struggle for sanity in a world where nostalgia has long since rotted away and the surrounding chaos forces one to look for the remnants of humanity even at the bottom of a glass. Egor does not organize revolutions, he just shows how our domestic dramas and political disagreements are just background noise in the persistent absurdity of the surrounding reality. He seems to have no illusions: to keep common sense and not become a statistic is already a victory.
