Investor
The tale of an investor who, amid sanctions and bureaucracy in Costa Rica, swaps his grandmother's apartment for two pieces of paper and a couple of ghost cars is a typical Russian absurdity of our time. Between trying to become a millionaire and awkward attempts at a personal life, the hero catches himself thinking that it's ironic that it's all not about success, but about survival and a constant sense of fatigue. Polysorb parties, home stripping, and an $88,000-an-hour psychologist are realities in which you try not to lose your mind, but it's hard. In the end, it's not so much standup as it is a chronicle of a generation learning to live in a world where funny and scary go hand in hand.
