About

Ruslan Khalitov is a comedian accustomed to viewing the absurdity around him through the prism of tired and ironic skepticism. His concerts are always a little bit about a person who is neither here nor there completely comfortable, but has a reason to scrutinize the details of the new everyday life. In "Georgian Period" an emigrant tries to exchange yesterday's fears for fresh ones - already surrounded by Georgian cops, street rallies and minor language misunderstandings. The mood of the concert is that of a tourist on a permanent basis, who still asks the mirror, "Why am I even here?" "My 2051 Performance" moves strictly along a zigzag: childhood traumas, ridiculous fears and religious paradoxes scatter apart but invariably return to one thing: a sense of the irrelevance and meaninglessness of almost any ritual, especially political rituals. All this with the very gaze of an observer who does not expect enlightenment, but will not refuse a couple of sarcastic conclusions.
