Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 27, 2026.

1. General

This policy describes how we process personal data in ComedyCat — a web portal for browsing and cataloguing stand-up shows (the “Service”). By using the Service you confirm you have read this policy.

2. Data we process

  • Account data. When you register or sign in (including via Google), we process data you provide to the authentication provider (e.g. email, account identifier).
  • Profile and activity data. Data you create in the Service: concert reviews, watch statuses, comedian subscriptions, onboarding preferences — as enabled by the Service.
  • Technical data. Browser, device, IP, and usage data may be processed automatically for operation, security, and analytics (see cookies and third-party services).

3. Purposes of processing

We process data to provide access, personalize feed and catalog, manage accounts, display your content, ensure security, improve the Service, comply with law, and perform our contract with you (terms of service).

4. Legal bases

Processing may rely on contract performance, consent where separately requested, legitimate interests (security, analytics in a minimized or aggregated form), and other bases under applicable data protection law.

5. Processors and subprocessors

We use trusted infrastructure providers, including:

  • Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and related backend functions;
  • Google — when signing in with Google OAuth, data is processed under Google’s policies;
  • Sentry — if enabled, technical error reports for diagnostics (we do not intend to include sensitive personal data);
  • Metrics and performance — aggregated or technical data about Service usage (e.g. web vitals, anonymized events) as configured in the app.

6. Cookies and local storage

The Service may use cookies and similar technologies for sessions, settings, and analytics. You can limit cookies in your browser; some features may then be unavailable.

7. Retention

We retain data as long as needed for the purposes in this policy unless a longer period is required by law. After account deletion or on request, some data may be deleted or anonymized subject to technical and legal limits.

8. Your rights

Depending on applicable law you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, data portability, and withdraw consent. Some rights can be exercised in the Service; for others, contact us using the details below.

9. Policy changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page. Material changes may be communicated in a reasonable way (e.g. in-app notice).
